Troubleshooting FAQ
Q: Why can’t I see job types in standard Elementor widgets?
This is by design:
- WP Job Manager hides this taxonomy from standard Elementor controls
- Use this dynamic tag specifically designed for job types
- The taxonomy exists but needs special handling
Q: Types aren’t showing up
Check these common issues:
- Verify job types are assigned to the job listing
- Ensure you’re editing a job listing template
- Check if you’re previewing with a valid job listing
Q: Can I customize the job type output text?
Currently, direct text customization is not available in the tag settings. However, you have two options:
- Using Translations:
- Install a translation plugin (e.g., Loco Translate – free)
- Load one of the 9 available language packs
- Search for the job type strings you want to modify
- Create your custom translations
- Using CSS:
- Style the output using CSS classes
- Hide/show elements based on your needs
Note: Text customization directly in the tag settings is planned for future updates.
Best Practices
- Use consistent job type naming across listings
- Consider whether types should be clickable
- Keep your job type list manageable
- Use types for meaningful employment classification
